Community
Because all parcel in our community will qualify as small hobby farm, each resident will enjoy lower taxes on their dwellings and property.
Each owner/resident will be encouraged to participate in growing a selection of vegetable crops, berry crops and fruit trees, raising poultry such as chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and pheasants, and even breeding rabbits, sheep, cows and horses. Our goal is to develop a well rounded farming community with that “small town feel”.
It is expected that some will be part-time hobby farmers. Their land could be rented or leased to other community members who want to increase their farming footprint and farming income.
Imagine home owners, busy in their real careers, being able to hop on a small John Deere and enjoy their own little piece of farming heaven at the end of the day or on weekends!
Presently, the land is forested and will be selectively treed allowing two roads (North and South on 224th, East and West at the center of the property) to be be treed with willows and cherry blossom trees.
Fire hydrants will be installed at the roads at every 2nd property line on the south side of the road. A local volunteer pumper truck is figured into the infrastructure as is snow removal.
We also plan to include an aerated fountain at the fully landscaped, lighted entry.
A minimal monthly strata cost for lawn maintenance and common property upkeep will keep our community looking its best. Strata fees will also allow for maintenance of the power generator plant, a “no-odour” wastewater plant, industrial reverse osmosis fresh water plant, as well as light standards operating maintenance.
