Our Plan
Our Plan
Our plan is solid. All the nuts, bolts and connecting tools required will be on-site in one location to make this project possible. Our community will provide much of its own food, fresh water, wastewater reclamation AND generate its own power.
This may all sound like science fiction but science fiction of today is the reality of tomorrow. It all starts with an idea and we are going to make it happen.
The principles of wind, solar and geothermal energy have been evolving for years. At Snowflake Science, we have structured all three of these technologies to provide continuous power for a community of twenty homes. This community will consist of hobby farm operations that include vegetable and berry crops as well as tree crops, poultry and livestock. Of course for that true country feel, horses, mules and sheep will be very welcome.
Every parcel of land will be powered by on-site generators with a 2nd generator in place to carry the load during maintenance and repairs. While we believe that traditional power and heating sources will be redundant, a further contingency plan ensures that both Fortis and BC Hydro services are “roughed-in” to the edge of all 20 properties.
Our goal is to ensure all dwellings in our community have power and warmth even in adverse conditions such as extreme weather events and potential overloading of the city’s power infrastructure.
As our pilot project of a self-contained community is realized, we will build on this success and plan to build another in the future.
